Assembly

Assembling your cinder lock garden or planter is a fairly easy task but may require some additional work depending on your individual situation.

Are you going to use the bricks as a perimeter for your garden/raised bed or will the blocks be used as planters?

Planter Wall
A planter wall utilizes a staggered block layout. Begin with a half block and turned full block. Set another full block on top the half block and the back half of the turned full block. repeat this process as desired.  Chicken wire and weed block can be used to contain the bottom of the block cavity that will be used for planting. Silicone caulk can be used to added strength to the structure if desired.

Raised bed
For a raised bed, determine the footprint and height of your bed. Once you have selected a size for your garden, begin positioning the blocks. Rebar and gravel can be used to add strength to your blocks and stabilize the structure. Additionally a surface bonding cement may be used to adhere the blocks.

Once you have achieved the desired height, finish the top layer with a solid half cinder. This will give your wall a clean finished look.
